The Kagadi district woman member of parliament, Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi urged graduates to use the skills they have acquired from higher institutions of learning to create their own jobs.

Speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony of African rural university that was held on 16th Nov 2018 at the university campus in Kagadi town council, Kagadi district. Kyomuhendo said, one of the key challenges facing many African countries, including Uganda, is unemployed university graduates.

She urges graduates to be innovative, entrepreneurs and proprietors in order to avoid being job seekers. Kyomuhendo implores graduates to keep away from bad peer groups and also control their expectations if they want to remain relevant in the society.

The degrees and certificates were conferred to graduands by the chancellor of African Rural University, Hon. Justice Ezekiel Muhanguzi.

He told students to stop the habit of rushing to towns and cities looking for jobs other than working and transforming their rural areas.

Meanwhile, the vice chancellor of African Rural University, Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe explains that African rural university focuses on job creation, restoring and maintaining traditional wisdom in Africa.

The joyful Graduates expressed happiness to ARU for providing them with holistic education as well as the support rendered by their parents.

A total of Six students graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Rural transformation and Certificates in Rural Entrepreneurship and business Management at African Rural University, ARU.

The graduation function was held under the theme:

Contributing to Africa’s renascence through Higher Education”.

The function was graced by the Member of Parliament of Buyaga East constituency Musana Eric Acaali Kagadi District RDC Lillian Ruteraho, LC5 chairperson Kagadi, Steven Byaruhanga Mfashingabo, DPC Kagadi Ojara Romeo Onek and District Education Officer Kibaale John Kyaboona among others.
